Apple has just recently announced the iPod nano, which has gotten tons of attention from just about everyone. It turns out that this may not be the biggest iPod announcement of the year. A couple of days ago we brought you a story showing that Apple has included a number of hidden Video buttons in iTunes 5, and now we know why. Will there be an iPod capable of playing video? All signs point to yes. We have confirmed with several inside industry sources that Apple plans on making another major iPod announcement in November. Will it just be a 100 GB iPod? Could be - but we think it is something more.

Ok, I know it isnt tech.. But GI Joe’s kick ass. Here you can buy the FIRST GI Joe out of the mold for a measley $350k
The 1st GI Joe out of the mold was a gift to me from the man who made it, Hasbro’s President of Mold Procurement, Hugh O’Connor. With this GI Joe comes proof in a letter written to me by Hugh O’Connor of what it is. This figure is also featured on the cover of my latest book, ‘The Complete Encyclopedia to GI Joe, 3rd Edition’.
On Pg 37, you can see a picture of Hugh holding this figure. The reason he has such a big smile was because I asked him, ” When you hold the GI Joe, point at the right cheek of the buttocks!” While he got a kick out of that, the whole idea was to direct the viewers attention to that area because this GI Joe did not have any markings on the buttocks!
In, The Complete Encyclopedia to GI Joe, 3rd Edition, you can read much more about Hugh’s involvement in the 1963 GI Joe project, in addition to his many eye-witness accounts, stories and relationships of all the people he worked with together on that project! The wealth of information provided by Hugh O’Connor’s inteviews have literally rewritten GI Joe history!

Now this is pretty cool. A video of the assembly line production of the Xbox 360, that’s right, there are people working hard at this very moment putting together your pre-ordered Xbox 360. The video shows a bunch of chinese guys and gals dressed in white wearing silk gloves testing and manufacturing the 360. In some strange way the video is almost a bit creepy…

AURORA ALERT! A coronal mass ejection (CME) is racing toward Earth and it could spark a severe geomagnetic storm when it arrives–perhaps tonight (Sept. 14th and 15th). People everywhere should be alert for auroras.
If this incoming CME does hit Earth’s magnetic field as hard as forecasters expect, auroras could appear in places where they are seldom seen: California, Arizona, Texas and elsewhere.
The word is that best time (for midwesterners anyway — I live in KS) is around 10:30 - 12pm local time. You might have to do some driving, to get away from the city lights. You want to find a spot that shows the northern horizon — Look for a hill, the higher the better. Also, the moon was very bright last night; if it is tonight, it will brighten up the whole sky, and make an aurora harder to see.
–As I get more info I will update this so keep checking back!

Nagra, for those that don’t know has invented ‘Aladin’ - a card used to encrypt satellite and cable transmissions, has recently confirmed that his ‘Aladin’ card has been indeed hacked, and pirated versions of it are circulating in Europe.
Nagra’s main clients are Echostar’s DiSH DTH and Bell ExpressVu while NTL and Telewest are planning on switching to the technology soon, I guess they will be waiting a bit to see what evolves from this hack.
