However there are some rumors going around about it..

Initial reports on 10.4.3 Update breaking EyeHome, Safari Enhancer, cracked Front Row - Just a FYI/warning to readers that I’ve gotten a mail that EyeHome (v1.6 ), Safari Enhancer 3.0 and some rumor site “widgets” were broken by the 10.4.3 update. (I avoid “Widgets” like the plague personally…) I suggested he write El Gato about the EyeHome software problem (if this is common hopefully they’re working on an update.)
Also a reader with a G5 mac running a cracked version of Front Row said it no longer runs after the 10.4.3 update.
If any readers find 10.4.3 improves performance, fixes or breaks anything, let me know. (As mentioned earlier in the 10.4.3 update item below especially interested in DL drive owner reports on 10.4.3/iDVD 5.0.x dual layer project support - without the previous hack and with no patchburn profile installed.)

The autoinet script scans for access points and begins connecting to each one found, looking for one with internet access. If the access point has internet access, it stays connected, and you are able to connect through it using NAT. Tested only on the Linksys WRT54G/WRT54GS.

I came up with this simple circuit using a LM555 timer to blink LEDs on and off:
The circuit shows 3 LEDs hooked up. Those are the red LEDs. I built 2 more circuits for the green and blue LEDs with the only difference being the 20k resistor being replaced by a 43k and 62k resistor respectively. Also not shown on the circuit diagram are pin 8 of the 555 timer which is connected to 9volts and pin 1 which is connected to ground.
The next step was to build the circuit. I used DIP8 packages of the 555 timer and axial lead resistors and capacitors on a breadboard all purchased from Ack Radio Supply down the street for about $5. Here’s what the finished board looks like:
Check out the video of it in action:
This would be a great project to do this halloween!

I previously wrote on the hack contest that Duxbury Highschool (Duxbury, MA) was having. Several students submitted their hacks, and FINALLY the judges (Myself, Phil Torrone, and Lyle Haze) came to a conclusion..
Here are the winners:
1st) Nick for his Embedded Guitar pedal
2nd) Stephen for his Compression Chuck for the lathe and Indestructible boom Box
3rd) Tom for his CVS Videocam Hack.
EXCELLENT JOB GUYS!
You can listen to audio of the announcement ceremony here (if that goes down here is an nyud.net link)
Hopefully this catches on, and we see more school sponsored hacking in the future.

Talk about taking retro gaming to the next level. Target Stores will offer BigGames Home Video Arcade machines that will retail for less than $500 nationwide in November of 2005. Each unit plays 12 of the original arcade versions of the most popular Midway® games including: Defender®, Defender® II, Robotron®, Joust®, Bubbles®, Splatâ„¢, Sinistar®, Rampage®, Rootbeer Tapperâ„¢, Wizard of Worâ„¢, Timberâ„¢, and Satan’s Hollowâ„¢. The unit stands 62†tall and has an included, built-in, full color monitor. It comes with additional A/V inputs that allow (almost) any existing home video game system, DVD player, VCR or any other A/V product to be plugged in and viewed on the built-in monitor. I only have one question, where is the Galaga?
Yeah, I know I have already built my own Mame cabinet.. But this might be worth hacking!

My MSDN subscription has paid off big time! I was able to test the new release, build 5231 (Beta2) and it included the Media Center Code. Sweet! I realize you may be curious what the new version will look like, so I recorded some screen movements to help explain it better:
Check out the video.. It looks pretty sweet
