The iTunes music store is now offering a consolidated section of free video downloads.  This isn’t the first time that Apple has offered free iTunes videos, this is the first time that I have seen many of grouped in one section.  Currently there is an amazing 8 free videos to download, but hopefully this catches on and Apple, and the media conglomerates will start to offer more free downloads.

[Free iTunes Videos]   Sorry, these downloads are only available for US iTunes customers

For those of you that don’t know, iTunes offers several free downloads a week, all you have to do is look.

Users who plan to upgrade their PC with more system memory could see some steep price increases over the next few weeks. The DRAMExchange, which monitors semiconductor spot trading prices, said that DDR prices have not only stabilized, but memory chips cost up to 20% more than earlier this year.

While both DDR and DDR2 are showing an upward trend, it is especially DDR2 that accelerates its spot market price and is approaching the levels of regular DDR memory again. According to the DRAMExchange, prices for DDR2 chips have increased between 7.3% (512 Mbit, 667 MHz) and 8.3% (512 Mbit, 533 MHz). DDR memory has seen a more moderate increase between 2.0 - 3.3% in the same time frame.

Weekly Competetion

The price increases are mainly driven by increased demand from motherboard makers, which saw their shipments grow by 9.9% in August. The DRAMExchange also believes that PC OEMs have begun their Christmas shopping, which should put even more pressure on DRAM prices. DRAMExchange analysts expect that the growth in the motherboard market will last at least through September.

Remember Hymn? You should, back in the day (like, um, 2004) it allowed you to strip the FairPlay DRM right off iTunes Music Store bought files just like that; well, it’s been a long time in coming, but a new app called QTFairUse6 looks like it can now be used (with some amount of difficulty) to dump iTunes version 6.0.4 - 6.0.5 files of their chastely protection.

Myspace has fixed this bug, it no longer works!~

I-Hacked Reader Ledger wrote in the comments of the previous article

Nah, it still works…

Dont know how widely known this is, I figured it out the other night.

Original ones that dont work:

http://collect.myspace.com/user/viewPicture.cfm?friendID=

Try These:
http://mail.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=profile.safeDeleteComments&FriendID=
http://mail.myspace.com/user/viewPicture.cfm?friendID=

Basically, change the sub domain before myspace.

You can also cahnge the fuseactions and viewPicture.cfm parts to view other things.

I have tested it and he is right, it works!

from PSP-Updates

Today hundreds of PSP’s will say hello to the world as they run their first piece of homebrew - the “Hello World” application. This will be made possible by a new exploit found that does not require one to own a copy of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, but rather load a simple image off of your memory stick. This remarkable demonstration can be executed on 2.0, 2.01, 2.50, 2.60, 2.70, 2.71, and 2.80 firmwares!

If you are stumbling while reading this sentence, I wouldn’t be surprised. I just told you that you are now able to execute a homebrew application on 2.0-2.80 firmware. Now that you know it is possible, you are probably wondering how. With the combined effort of several dedicated users – NOPx86 (provided the original x86 proof of concept), psp250, skylark, joek2100, jimp, cswindle and Fanjita, they have managed to execute the first piece of homebrew on all firmwares above (and including) 2.0!

Less than a week ago, Fanjita dropped by our forums to tell us that a newly discovered exploit is indeed genuine and a usable exploit. This “exploit” started off as a discovery by NOPx86 in libtiff. He managed to find vulnerability and as a result – alter it to crash the PSP and many other image viewers. Fanjita, NOPx86 and the rest of this exploit team have put their hearts and souls into this exploit, and as a result they were able to execute a Hello World application on all PSP’s with the ability to view tiff files (2.0+). This application runs in “User Mode”, but kernel mode will be achievable on all firmwares except 2.80.

To execute this “Hello World” application on your 2.0+ PSP, please follow the following directions -

  1. Unpack the ZIP file to your PSP’s PHOTO folder
  2. Navigate to your PSP’s PHOTO director and attempt to view the newly transferred picture

Note: You may find that the screen does not show correct (occasionally happens) - just restart your PSP (fully shutoff by holding the power button up) and open the picture again.

Here at PSPUpdates, there isn’t anything more exciting than news on a new exploit working, and this is no exception. Please feel free to share your shouts of joy below in our comments section as many have or will be going back to school soon - this comes at the best of times! We will continue to cover this breaking news as it happens, so you can rest peacefully without the fear of missing something.

Across that other, bigger pond, Samsung’s been busy. Apparently, it’s just released the new 17-inch Sens G10 laptop, which on first glance looks pretty slick, what with its SATA 200GB 7200RPM hard drive, and a pretty little 700:1 contrast ratio. However Samsung is still somewhat confused on what constitutes a laptop. We normally think of them as being portable, which implies a battery. The Sens G10 requires an AC adapter for no real reason, which forces you to use it as a desktop. No word on the price yet, nor why this is better than getting a prefab desktop to throw together with a 17-inch LCD.

from Monolingual

Monolingual is a program for removing unnecessary language resources from Mac OS X, in order to reclaim several hundred megabytes of disk space. It requires at least Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) and also works on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).

I don’t know about you, but I use my computer in only one (human) language — English. And I’m willing to bet that you do too, albeit perhaps not English. So why do you have a bunch of localization files for the Mac OS X operating system filling up your hard drive? Enter Monolingual — a handy utility for reclaiming your space for more useful things… like international mp3 files, email or whatever you like.

Update: Looks like they FIXED the issue

from grownupgeek.com

ok..here’s the Myspace code so y’all can just use it:

http://editprofile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=profile.safeDeleteComments&FriendID=

*insert their Myspace friendID at the end

(Update 8/26/06)
To view pictures on a private profile, try this:
http://collect.myspace.com/user/viewPicture.cfm?friendID= **
**Put the friendID there

Myspace Friend ID

Yes, this simple code DOES allow you to view comments on anyone’s private Myspace profile! I can’t believe how easy it is to hack all of Myspace’s security to view this “private” info!
