The first tool is the Southord Jackknife Lock Pick Set.
The handle is made out of light weight fiberglass/polymer.
It conceals four picks, one key extractor and a tension tool.
The tension tool acts like a shield to the picks that are contained within the
Jackknife.
As you can see here, the Jackknife hides the picks very nicely.
Once you have selected the appropriate pick you can tighten the nut, located at
the bottom of the knife, to lock it in place.
The only draw back that I have with this is that you
really should take it off your key chain while in use. Other wise it is a pain
as it pulls down while you are working.
Final Comments: The tool is very handy and because
it is attached to your keychain you can almost guarantee that you will have it
on you.
It is very rugged and durable. It is a must have for anyone that enjoys
this hobby or profession.
The next tool that I had the honors to play with is the
RCS Sliding Pocket Pick Tool. Its handle is made of fiberglass which
houses 7 stainless steal tools.
This is a really sweet tool. To the naked eye you would believe that it is a
knife handle with no blade.
With a closer look you would see 2 metal joints protruding from the center of
the tool.
With the slight move of one of the metal joints the tool exposes one of four
picks hidden within the handle.
It also possesses two tension tools. One of the tension tools doubles as a key
extractor.
Each metal joint possesses a different pick depending on which way it is pushed.
This shows the the metal joints pushed in the opposite direction exposing a
different set of picks.
Final Comments: The tool is light weight and its
ergonomic handle makes the job easy. It has a hard case feel without the
weight. The tool is easy to carry around with you since everything is
contained within the handle. This is a true beginner tool. It seems
as if the tool itself does all the work. I have let many people with no
experience try this tool and they have picked it up within 2 minutes. "Get
one before the are gone - you have been warned"
