Update #3: We now have public confirmation that the v1.00 firmware method DOES work, with the release of the 100% LEGAL “homebrew” Hello World, PSP! EBOOT.PBP file by NEM / SAMPU-SYOKUNIN. Additional pictures of Hello World, PSP! are available by clicking HERE under “Attached Images” near the bottom.
Interestingly, this EBOOT.PBP wasn’t put together with the recently-released ELF2PBP command line tool, so either there is a necessary update for this tool, or a different tool was used to create it such as the previously-released PBP Unpacker v0.50. To quote from the author:
Hello World, PSP!
Runs only on PSP 1.00.
Place EBOOT.PBP at directory PSP\GAME\HELLOPSP\ of Memory Stick, and
you will find HELLO WORLD at GAME -> MEMORY STICK of XMB.
To shutdown, hold up power switch several seconds, or remove battery.
All scratch code, compiled by ps2dev toolchain.
