Games firm Nintendo has said it will replace all broken straps for its Wii console, following customer complaints.
The strap is connected to a motion sensitive remote which is used to control the on-screen action.
The announcement follows reports about the wrist straps breaking during use, leading to the controller slipping out of hands, smashing TVs and windows.
Nintendo said the straps do not present a problem if used correctly, but will still replace all broken ones for free.
In addition all new Wiis will come with an “enhanced” strap which should not be as prone to breakages.

Anyone who breaks something with their controller clearly lacks all competance. First of all, you aren’t actually playing with a baseball bat… its not real life, you dont have to make a full swing. All you have to do is move the controller a little bit and it will do what you want. You don’t need to swing it around at 75mph. Second, if you’re playing around breakable objects use some damn common sense. Be carefull and mind your surroundings.
Has anyone tested the breaking strength of these straps? I’m sure it takes a lot to break them. You shouldn’t be swinging the controller that much. (forget about letting go of it… I have never had an issue with the controller leaving my hands)
Honestly, I put this up there with the people who sue fast food resturaunts because their coffee was too hot or because they got fat.
